Job description

We are looking for a strong Golang Developer to join a newly formed engineering team supporting Event Horizon, Walmart’s enterprise messaging platform. The platform powers critical promotions and customer engagement capabilities across Walmart’s digital ecosystem and handles high-volume production workloads., * Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Golang and Java

Build and enhance components of Walmart’s Event Horizon messaging platform
Develop highly available and fault-tolerant distributed systems
Build APIs, microservices, and asynchronoevent-driven solutions
Work with Product Managers, Architects, and Engineering teams
Improve platform performance, scalability, reliability, and observability
Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis
Contribute to CI/CD, automation, and operational excellence
Participate in architecture discussions and technical design decisions

Preferred Skills

Kafka, Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ, SNS/SQS, or similar messaging technologies
Event-driven architecture
High-volume consumer-facing applications
Platform-level services
Google Cloud Platform
Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or OpenTelemetry
CI/CD pipelines
Infrastructure as Code
E-commerce, promotions, marketing technology, or customer engagement platforms
Strong Java experience

Requirements

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong hands-on Golang and application development experience who has worked with distributed systems, microservices, messaging platforms, and cloud technologies.

Must-Have Skills

Strong hands-on Golang / Go development experience
Strong Application Development background
5+ years of software engineering experience
Experience building backend services and microservices
Experience with distributed systems
Strong knowledge of REST APIs
Experience with cloud platforms - Google Cloud Platform preferred, AWS/Azure also considered
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
