Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline. \n

  • Proven background in 3D CAD modelling (SolidWorks) with strong expertise in heavy machinery, structural steelwork, fabrication or lifting equipment, is beneficial, but not essential. \n

  • Capability to perform design calculations independently to validate engineering concepts. \n

  • Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems is highly desirable. \n

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

\n \n

  • Produce concepts, 3D CAD models, and detail drawings for steel structures, sheet metal work, and mechanisms using SolidWorks. \n

  • Carry out technical calculations to justify designs, ensure structural integrity, and validate decision-making. \n

  • Lead design aspects of new product development, ensuring all products comply with strict legislative, safety, and goods vehicle criteria. \n

  • Provide clear technical guidance to manufacturing, procurement, and commercial teams to achieve required specifications at best cost. \n

  • Design and integrate ancillary systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrics. \n
