Job description

TITLES is looking for a Full Stack Engineer (backend-focused) to help architect, build, and maintain dynamic web-based creative tooling experiences. The role involves owning and evolving a new, extensible codebase, building core platform services, designing scalable APIs, shaping data infrastructure, and contributing across the stack when needed.

You will work in a fast-paced startup environment, collaborating closely with product, design, and data teams to deliver features end-to-end. The role emphasizes experimentation, especially with AI-assisted coding tools, agents, and automation, to significantly increase engineering velocity. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, values ownership, and enjoys iterating quickly on complex problems., * Build and maintain core backend services, APIs, and data layers powering the TITLES platform.

  • Collaborate with product, design, and data teams to define and deliver features end-to-end.
  • Design scalable, secure, and observable systems that support rapid user growth.
  • Contribute across the stack, including frontend applications (e.g., React), with a strong focus on user experience.
  • Drive CI/CD processes, infrastructure automation, and developer tooling improvements.
  • Experiment with and leverage AI-assisted coding tools, agents, and workflows to improve delivery speed, quality, and testing.
  • Help evolve system architecture with strong opinions on modularity, APIs, and service boundaries.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, preferably at startups, shipping products end-to-end.
  • Strong backend experience with Node.js and TypeScript, including real-world API and service development.
  • Proficiency with modern databases (e.g., PostgreSQL), data modeling, and performance optimization.
  • Experience with frontend technologies such as React and modern JavaScript.
  • Comfort working with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, serverless, containers) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proven experience using, customizing, or integrating AI coding tools, code generation, agents, or developer automation in production workflows.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical trade-offs and collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Startup mindset: enjoys autonomy, ownership, experimentation, and high-impact work.

Benefits & conditions

  • Competitive compensation with equity.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Flexible time off.
  • Equipment and tools needed to be successful.
