Onsite/Local Network Engineer

The DivTel Engineering team is responsible for overseeing and controlling the State Network’s operations. This involves using various Network Monitoring tools, such as SEIM tools and the Network Operations Center ticketing system. The Contractors Personnel shall work within DivTels Bureau of Engineering on Project tasks as assigned by the DivTel lead engineer that include, but are not limited to, the following: 5.1 Work Tasks 5.1.1 Providing technical documentation of work performed in standard project team format. 5.1.2 Working on any connectivity, security, or DNS issues and requests that have been escalated by the vendor NOC. 5.1.3 Ensuring issues are identified, tracked, reported on, and resolved in a timely manner. 5.1.4 Monitoring and assisting in reporting issues with the network/system for greatest performance. 5.1.5 Providing timely updates and reports on the network’s status to relevant stakeholders. 5.1.6 Providing assistance to ensure the security of deployed applications. 5.1.7 Monitoring the State Networks performance. 5.1.8 Providing assistance in coordinating network maintenance activities. 5.1.9 The Contractors staff may work on one or more projects as a Project team member, occasionally as a project team lead, and may be asked to coach more junior technical staff. 5.2 Communication Contractors personnel shall demonstrate the following communication skills: a. Able to communicate technical matters clearly in lay terms for full comprehension by non-technical users. b. Facilitate team and customer meetings. c. Deliver informative, well-organized presentation, if required. d. Understand how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully. 5.3 Problem Solving The Contractors personnel shall be responsible for solving problems using the following soft skills: a. Attention to detail b. Logical thinking c. Creativity d. Persistence e. Adaptability f. Collaboration 5.4 Teamwork Contractors personnel shall: 5.4.1 be the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams; 5.4.2 facilitate effective team interaction; 5.4.3 be willing to participate in all team roles; 5.4.4 develop relationships with staff and other Department contractors to foster customer ties; 5.4.5 communicate effectively with staff and other Department contractors at all levels to identify needs and evaluate solutions; 5.4.6 continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen both user and other Department contractor relationships; and 5.4.7 maintain relationships with other external organizations through professional association links wherever possible. 5.5 Meetings 5.5.1 All meetings will be held either in person at 4030 Esplanade Way, Tallahassee, Florida, or via Microsoft Teams or other agreed-to video conferencing methods. 5.5.2 The Contractor shall meet with the Department within five (5) business days of PO issuance to discuss the services contemplated by this RFQ, Department resources required by the Contractor and timeline of events. 5.5.3 Recurring or progress meetings may be held as necessary. Either party may request such a meeting, subject to reasonable notice. Have a bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, or another related field, or equivalent work experience. Have 3 to 5 years of IT work experience in infrastructure/network environments performing network engineering (hardware and/or software), design, planning, and implementation. 3.4.2 Pass a State of Florida criminal background screening in accordance with Section 19. 3.4.3 Possess excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of individuals, including, but not limited to, the following: executives, managers, and subject matter experts. 3.4.4 Possess excellent technical writing skills, including the ability to write complex reports, plans, and briefings, if required 3.4.5 Possess strong organizational skills. 3.4.6 Understand Department requirements under Chapter 282, F.S. 3.4.7 Understand how to maintain the confidentiality of records in accordance with Chapter 119, F.S., and Department policy. 5.0 SCOPE OF WORK
