Job description
Alion Science and Technology is looking for an Information System Security Officer for Wright Patterson Air Force Base. The ISSOs primary function is working within Special Access Programs (SAPs) supporting Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, such as HQ Air Force, Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) and Military Compartments efforts. The position will provide day-to-day support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Program (SAP) activities.
In this position you will be supporting the Foreign Materiel Exploitation (FME) Squadron of the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC). The mission objective is to help U.S. warfighters maintain their competitive edge by enabling the execution of timely exploitation of foreign aerospace and electronic systems for FME’s Global Exploitation Intelligence Group. Responsibilities
In this role you will be responsible for:
Maintaining the certification and accreditation of classified Information System networks and ensure auditing requirements are completed in accordance with appropriate guidelines & requirements.
Ensuring all system security procedures are being followed include maintaining and reviewing software security patching, account management and audit files in accordance with various customer requirements.
Maintaining Information System media control, anti-virus definition updates, hardware and software control for secure operating environments, Information Security briefings, education and training. Performing periodic self-inspections of the overall Information System program and ensure compliance with various Government regulations.
Assisting with investigations into security violations related to the Information System program, ensuring corrective actions are appropriately implemented.
Requirements
An ideal candidate will be a fast-learning, self-motivated individual with a passion to work on, and positively impact, our nation’s defense against threats
Experience and/or knowledge in information systems security/information assurance implementing NISPOM Chapter 8, DoDM 8501.01, JAFAN 6/3, DCID 6/3, ICD 503, and/or JSIG IS requirements
Working knowledge of security system functions, security policies, technical security safeguards, and operational security measures to include NISPOM, JSIG, NIST 800-37 (RMF), NIST 800-53, CNSSI 1253, ICD 503, Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes is required
Experience with SCAP, NESSUS and other vulnerability scanning and logging tools a plus
Knowledge of HBSS is a plus
Knowledge across all aspects of Security and will be required to backup and assist other members of the Security Staff as required
Operating knowledge of Windows/Linux operating systems
Working proficiency with Active Directory Users and Computers (ADUC), Remote System Administration Tools (RSAT), and Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA)
Proficiency with MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Strong team-work, communication and problem solving skills, Ability to work in both a Team environment as well as independently
Must be organized and detail orientated
Must have the ability to work in a dynamic environment and effectively interact with numerous DOD, military/civilian personnel and industry partners
Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and computer literacy
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Education:
BS with 1-2 years experience; or HS with 6+ years experience.
Certifications:
Must have a minimum of Security+ certification or equivalent to meet therequirements outlined in DoD Directive 8140 for Information Assurance Manager Level I
Security Clearance:
Secret or Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility, with eligibility for access to Special Access Program Information
