Job description
- Partner closely with cross-functional partners across Engineering and Product to embed sound technical privacy practices in everything we ship and help uncover risks before they become issues;
- Proactively explore Twitter’s products and services to identify improvements in the way we look after data or institute a new privacy-preserving technology;
- Identify important privacy issues within system designs or implementations, and suggest and drive robust designs to fix them.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in technical privacy review to find common failures, good design patterns, and trade-offs;
- Possess strong privacy domain knowledge;
- Solid command of technical privacy issues within the software and systems development lifecycle: Keen ability to identify common hurdles and solutions to effective privacy and security;
- Ability to grasp business, user, and technical requirements, and can identify sophisticated privacy dependencies in large-scale systems;
- Ability to build close partnerships across subject areas and teams (e.g. engineering, legal, policy);
- Ability to challenge the status quo while remaining pragmatic and championing trust with partners;
- Experience leading, engaging and operating within the goals of partner teams, and effectively working with them to integrate privacy into their designs;
- Experience implementing and continuing to evolve privacy engineering principles, culture, and standard methodologies;
- Ability to coach teammates as customer and value-focused privacy engineers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- History of handling privacy incidents through investigation, fixes, and resolution;
- Experience in human-centric threat modeling, data anonymization, and/or other privacy-preserving techniques, process, or technologies;
- Experience in code review in one or more general purpose languages;
- Experience with developing or debugging microservice architectures or distributed systems.
