Job description

  • Develop and implement a full set of company-level aerospace configuration management plans, processes, and documentation for the development and certification of new aircraft platforms
  • Maintain all type/production design configurations for the full service life of configured products
  • Ensure configuration accuracy and FAA audit readiness by establishing processes to produce full configuration for any required aircraft or asset builds
  • Ensure Airworthiness documentation accuracy and customer confidence by ensuring it reflects changes in aircraft configuration status
  • Support the standardization of design data, and the development of Model Based solutions
  • Lead Problem Resolution and Change Control Boards and related configuration processes and activities
  • Coordinate correct definition of change scope & effectivity for hardware and software to maintain accurate configuration definitions of all aircraft and verification assets
  • Spearhead the growth and development of the configuration management team to support aircraft development and certification according to schedule
  • Train stakeholders in BETA configuration and change management processes and systems
  • Develop and maintain the company selected configuration software, primarily 3Dx and Polarian

Requirements

The Configuration and Lifecycle Management Team Leader is critical to ensuring full lifecycle management of the aircraft configuration compliance with FAA regulations (e.g., 14 CFR Part 21) and industry standards. BETA is looking for an Configuration and Lifecycle Management Team Leader with 10+ years of aerospace experience to drive the development of our configuration control processes as an Aerospace OEM. You’ll collaborate closely with Airworthiness, Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to ensure that the configuration of all aircraft products - hardware and software - are fully defined, traceable, and auditable throughout the aircraft’s lifecycle., * 10+ years of experience working in Aerospace Configuration Management and/or Commercial Aircraft Certification

  • Background in and understanding of engineering, supply chain, quality, and product development processes, and how these activities interact with Configuration Management
  • Knowledge & experience in FAA advisory circulars, requirements, and best practices for Aircraft Configuration Management
  • Understanding of FAA conformity and test program execution
  • Knowledge & experience in ARP 4754A and EIA-649
  • Passion for safety through quality in hardware, software, and manufacturing product development, with excellent written and verbal communication skillsHigh energy, self-motivated, organized and detail-oriented

Above and Beyond Qualifications:

  • End to end experience with certification and launch of newly developed aircraft products
  • Experience in RTCA DO-178C or RTCA DO-254 requirements for Configuration Management
  • Strong problem solving and root cause corrective action investigation background, Employment offers are contingent upon the successful completion of a background check. BETA Technologies participates in E-Verify.
