To learn more visit: www.waabi.ai As Waabi continues to grow rapidly, the Physical Infrastructure team is looking for hands-on engineers near Dallas, TX or Pittsburgh, PA to build and support computers and network systems powering our autonomous fleet! Do you run an unnecessarily complex home lab just for the joy of building, tinkering, and optimizing it? The ideal candidate would partner closely with the Vehicle Fleet Operations and Hardware teams to support and implement vehicle computers and networks as well as contribute to solutions to move large amount of data from vehicles.   • Work alongside a team of multidisciplinary Engineers to enable safe self-driving at Scale.
  • Collaborate with hardware team on vehicle compute and network implementation.
  • Work with software and hardware teams on OS and software delivery into vehicles.
  • Assist with vehicle compute, network, and sensors diagnostics as needed.
  • Work with software and hardware teams to implement and maintain high volume data pipelines.
  • Build tools, systems and infrastructure to support vehicle development.
  • Collaborate with IT on facility infrastructure where necessary.
  • Participate in on-call program to support vehicle operations.

Requirements

BS, MS/PhD in Computer Science or similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Good understanding of computer and network hardware.
  • Experience with on-premise servers and storage systems.
  • Experience working with Linux operating systems.
  • Experience building and running Docker containers.
  • Experience with Python and Bash.
  • Open-minded and collaborative team player with the willingness to help others.
  • Passionate about self-driving technologies, solving hard problems, and creating innovative solutions. Bonus:

  • Ability to travel occasionally within the United States.
  • Experience with rugged wireless technologies (ie. LTE/5G modems).
  • Experience with scale-out storage systems.
  • Experience working with public cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
  • Experience with infrastructure as code systems (Ansible and Terraform preferred).
  • Familiarity with security concepts, access management, and data security.
  • Experience with automated building of OS images for deployment onto physical computers.
  • Familiarity with self-driving vehicle sensors and hardware.
  • Some experience in reading and developing production quality software.
  • Familiarity with GO, Rust or C++ ecosystems.
  • Experience with building platform services that enable other teams to do their best work.

Benefits & conditions

The US yearly salary range for this role is: $125,000 - $190,000 USD in addition to competitive perks & benefits. Waabi US Inc. and Waabi Canada Inc.’s yearly salary ranges are determined based on several factors in accordance with the Company’s compensation practices. The salary base range is reflective of the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US and Canada locations. Note: The Company provides additional compensation for employees in this role, including discretionary equity incentive awards and discretionary annual performance bonus. Perks/Benefits:
