Job description

We are seeking a senior Go engineer to deliver complex thirdparty opensource package upgrades in a large monorepo environment The role owns the engineering path from package assessment and version change through dependency remediation build and existingtest stabilization applicable presubmits change submission and migration reporting Scope emphasis fix and execute existing tests creation of new unit or integration test suites is not required, Assess assigned packages dependency trees APIchange exposure build impact and upgrade friction before execution Upgrade Go modules and package versions separate version bumps and local patches where required and reapply or retire patches safely Resolve breaking API changes in the upgraded library and update directly affected downstream callers within the approved scope Diagnose and remediate GoBazel build failures existing test failures and applicable presubmit failures attributable to the upgrade Maintain Copybara configurations and troubleshoot sourcesynchronization or integration issues associated with the package change Use approved internal tooling and reusable automation to accelerate analysis failure triage validation and evidence capture Submit reviewready change lists with clear technical rationale validation evidence patch status and traceable migration records Document and escalate material package deviations external blockers and crossproduct dependency impacts with actionable evidence, Accepted package upgrade package builds pass existing tests pass applicable presubmits pass and the change list is submitted Migration report packageversion details code and dependency remediation validation evidence patch disposition and documented exceptions Predictable delivery early blocker escalation clean handoffs reusable learnings and reliable progress against assigned priorities

Requirements

7 years of software engineering experience including substantial handson development and debugging in Go Strong command of Go modules semantic versioning transitive dependency resolution package compatibility and idiomatic API refactoring Practical experience with Bazel go build go test CIpresubmit pipelines and troubleshooting large or monorepobased build environments Demonstrated ability to isolate compiler linker build test and runtime failures introduced by dependency upgrades Proficiency with Gitbased change management code review mergeconflict resolution and local patch lifecycle management Strong Linux and scripting skills for investigation repeatable validation and engineering automation Clear written and verbal communication disciplined documentation and effective collaboration with reviewers and language SMEs Preferred experience Copybara or comparable sourcesynchronization tooling Largescale OSS dependency upgrade vulnerabilityremediation or packagemaintenance programs Complex dependency graphs generated code multitarget changes and highimpact API migrations Building reusable upgrade playbooks or automation within controlled enterprise environments
