Job description
- At our company, we’re making IT easier, faster, and smarter. Our full-stack teams build and maintain our web application, which supports millions of network devices from our cloud. Our customers use the our dashboard to monitor and configure critical IT infrastructure that serves tens of millions of people every single day.
- As a member of the Dashboard Admins & Auth team, you will collaborate with other engineers to design, plan, and build new features for our customers. You’ll work closely with product managers and UX designers to construct intuitive and powerful workflows to solve important problems for IT professionals around the world. Our team’s goal is to build simple and clean experiences for all our customers and teams to enable secure, effortless login and make IAM easy and enjoyable!
- Our Dashboard teams are small, agile teams striving to make our products unique in balancing their feature-rich abilities and their simplicity. You will play a critical role in developing and enhancing the core administrative interfaces and authentication mechanisms that empower our users and administrators. Our full-stack engineers are well-versed in a wide array of CS concepts and eager to jump around languages, platforms, and all levels of the Meraki stack!
What you will do:
- Designing, developing, and deploying secure and robust authentication and authorization systems.
- Building administrative tools for managing users, roles, and system configurations.
- Solve challenging scaling problems to meet a growing user base and ensure the best experience and uptime.
- Collaborating with product partners, UX designers, and engineers to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Boldly move the networking and security industry forward along a path of simplification, performance, and flexibility.
- Be a unifying force connecting people and inspiring others to do their best.
Requirements
- Have built rich web UIs with React (and Redux) or similar frameworks.
- Know your way around web back-end technologies, like Ruby on Rails.
- Can implement efficient database design in a relational database (we use Postgres).
- Are passionate about career advancement. We’re looking for leaders, whether that means you strive to be a strong leading individual contributor or want to grow into a tech lead role.
- Experience or willingness to work on proof-of-concept spikes as well as in an agile environment (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
Bonus points for:
- Hands-on experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions, authentication protocols (e.g., OAuth, SAML), and authorization frameworks.
- Have working knowledge or SCIM (System for Cross-domain Identity Management).
- Experience with asynchronous patterns, message queues/topics (e.g., Kafka) and search technologies (e.g., Elasticsearch).
