Job description

  • Design, develop, test and maintain embedded software for complex defense and mission systems.
  • Develop software using C and C++ in embedded and real-time environments.
  • Contribute as a senior individual engineer on complex weapons and defense systems.
  • Provide technical leadership, architecture reviews and engineering guidance for existing and proposed systems.
  • Translate system and software architecture requirements into actionable development tasks.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and software development teams.
  • Participate in Agile development environments using Scrum, Kanban or similar methodologies.
  • Support DevSecOps practices including automated builds, testing and secure software integration workflows.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to software development teams.

Requirements

We are seeking an experienced Senior Embedded Software Engineer to support advanced defense and mission-critical systems programs. This is a hands-on senior engineering position for an experienced embedded developer who can contribute to complex software architecture, design and development while also providing technical guidance to other engineers.

This position requires an active DoD Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship. All work is performed on-site at a secure facility in McKinney, Texas. This is not a remote position., * Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics).

  • 20+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
  • Strong professional experience developing C/C++ software for embedded defense applications.
  • Experience with embedded, real-time and/or low-level systems development.
  • Experience supporting complex defense, weapons, aerospace or mission-critical systems.
  • Experience with DevSecOps, automated builds, software testing and secure integration workflows.
  • Experience working within Agile software development environments.
  • Strong communication and collaborative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work 100% on-site in McKinney, TX

Clearance & Citizenship Requirements

  • Active DoD Secret clearance is required at the time of application.
  • Must be able to obtain Special Access Program (SAP) approval.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to government security requirements.
