Software Engineer III

Hottinger Bruel & Kjaer Solutions LLC is looking for a talented Software Engineer III to join our team. We combine our expertise in reliability, durability, advanced modeling, and software engineering to provide Asset Performance Management Solutions, some of which include Machine Learning Model-drive Predictive Analytics. You will be joining an active, dynamic, and growing software design, development, and configuration team to rapidly create innovative digital software solutions. This includes working with a team alongside subject matter experts, project managers, and product managers to deliver innovative solutions using the latest technology and approaches., * Being an active member of an advanced technology team in the rapid development of digital software systems

• Software product configuration, design, and implementation
• Presentations to team members, management, and customers

• Collaborating with our subject matter experts to understand and convert user requirements into software architectures and digital design solutions based on customer (and market) needs

• Creating detailed documentation for digital solutions, custom solutions, and products
• Assisting in customer and partner implementations

• Collaborating with our wider organizational software development and configuration teams to help streamline future solutions and software products

• Working with project and product managers to achieve on-time, on-cost delivery
• Researching and testing new technologies and software plus identify and recommend their applicability
• Other duties as needed

• A Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science with an aptitude for engineering applications
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and related technology professional certifications

• In-depth knowledge of one or more of the following technologies across multiple categories:
• React, Agular, Vue, TypeScript
• Query Libraries: RTK (preferred), React
• Global State Management: Redux Toolkit
• Component Library: Kendo, Material UI
• C#, Java/Kotlin, Python
• SQL Server, MongoDB (NoSQL), InfluxDB, PostgreSQL, Redis

• Kafka

• Project Management and Version Control software (e.g. Gitlab, Atlassian stacks)

• Linux based and Windows operating systems Dynamic Web Applications, REST, MVC, Inter Process Communication, Asynchronous I/O, concurrent code execution, Object-Oriented Programming, User Interface design, High Performance Computing

• Secure solutions for distributed architectures
• Experience with database architectures, scripting, and web services
• Experience in working with both unstructured and structured data
• Experience in design/development of enterprise-scale web-based solutions involving large scale data and BI visualization technologies
• Experience with developing scalable/parallel-processing applications
• Experience with agile/scrum development methodologies
• Familiarity with approaches and software for machine learning
• A solid foundation in computer science techniques and knowledge of the development of real-world engineering solutions
• High level analytical ability where problems are unusual and complex
• Detail oriented with a keen focus on User Experience (UX Design) and customer satisfaction
• Desire for technical advancement via self-motivated research, formal training, and working closely with experts in the field
• High level of interpersonal skills to work both independently and effectively with others
• Exceptional skills related to time management and decision making
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Willingness to travel to support customer projects and implementations

The pay range for this position is $110,000 to $120,000 annually plus 10% bonus. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to the individual’s qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as physical work location within the state.
