Job description

The department of Psychiatry is seeking to hire a Applications Programmer 3 to support the clinical, research, educational, and business operations of the Neuromodulation Division. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining complex software applications, databases, servers, websites, and IT infrastructure that supports innovative clinical and research programs. Key responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain software applications supporting clinical, research, and business operations
  • Develop and manage research and educational databases, including data-entry and reporting systems
  • Create and maintain custom software solutions using technologies such as Python, JavaScript, Node.js, Bash, MySQL, C++, and C#
  • Support and administer servers, networks, and IT infrastructure for clinical and research environemnts
  • Perform data analysis and software development related to EEG, MRI, and other research data
  • Provide advanced technical support for hardware, software, databases, and network systems
  • Design, maintain, and enhance division websites and web-based resources
  • Recommend and evaluate software and hardware solutions to improve operational efficiency and support organizational goals

Requirements

Required:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience designing, developing, implementing, and supporting complex software applications, databases, servers, and networked systems or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Strong knowledge of MS SQL, MS Access, FileMaker, database queries, functions, and stored procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to design and develop object-oriented, modular, reusable, and well-documented programs in C++, C#, and VB.NET
  • Expert knowledge of web application development and services using ASP.NET and SQL databases
  • Knowledge of IIS, Apache web servers, and scripting languages including PHP, PERL, VBA, CSS, JavaScript, and Ajax
  • Working knowledge of web and database design and developemtn
  • Experience supporting desktop, laptop, workstation, and server environments on both Apple and Windows platforms
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing responsibilities, and maintain confidentiality

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
  • Knowledge of FileMaker Pro
  • Experience supporting clinical research, healthcare, or academic environments
