GCP Cloud/Data Architect

The client is seeking a highly experienced GCP Cloud/Data Architect to provide technical leadership, validate architecture designs, and guide the overall migration strategy. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on architect with deep expertise in GCP data services, cloud migrations, and enterprise-scale data platform modernization., * Evaluate and validate the client’s cloud and data architecture strategy for GCP.

• Design and implement scalable data lake and data warehouse solutions within GCP.
• Lead the migration of data platforms and analytical workloads from AWS to GCP.
• Develop strategies for decommissioning Snowflake on AWS and transitioning to a GCP-based data ecosystem.
• Architect data ingestion, integration, ETL/ELT, and analytics solutions across multiple source systems.
• Establish cloud architecture standards, governance, security controls, and best practices.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define roadmap, priorities, and migration strategies.
• Identify performance, scalability, and cost optimization opportunities.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to internal teams with limited GCP experience.
• Serve as the primary GCP subject matter expert driving the initiative from planning through execution.

• 8+ years of experience in cloud, data, and solution architecture roles.
• Deep expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and modern data architectures.
• Proven experience building enterprise-scale data lakes and data warehouse environments on GCP.

• Experience leading AWS-to-GCP migration initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of data integration, ETL/ELT frameworks, data modeling, and large-scale data migration strategies.
• Experience evaluating existing architectures and recommending improvements based on best practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience migrating Snowflake data platforms and workloads.
• Multi-cloud experience supporting both AWS and GCP environments.
• Google Professional Cloud Architect and/or Professional Data Engineer certification.
• Experience working in environments where cloud platforms are being adopted for the first time.
• Background in cloud governance, security, and data platform modernization initiatives.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s in related field

This role will initially focus on assessing the viability of the client’s current GCP architecture. If additional support is required, the consultant will lead architectural efforts and provide hands-on guidance throughout implementation.

Rate: $100.00 to $120.00/hr. w2, Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
