Job description

ISEE is seeking our first Staff Test Engineer to join our team. The Staff Test Engineer will be focused on testing our electrical and mechanical hardware. This person will build test methods, fixtures and benches to verify and validate our hardware components designs against functional, performance and reliability requirements. The Senior Testing Engineer will conduct and analyze testing data and collaborate with cross-functional teams on failure root cause and design countermeasures. This person will participate in design reviews and FMEA meetings to ensure lessons learned and best practices are incorporated, which will require collaborating with hardware engineering to build testability into designs. This person will develop the processes to commission new autonomous vehicles for testing and operations and help implement the RMA and RCA processes for hardware components replaced in the field during testing and operations. The Staff Testing Engineer objective is to understand failures found in testing and the field to prevent future failures by capturing all design weaknesses in the earliest development phases. Role responsibilities include: -Validate and Verify hardware facing requirements, ensuring acceptance tests via well-structured test design, plans and test cases by working with hardware design and test engineering teams. -Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and deploy corrective actions and debugging on bench and vehicle level hardware. -Administer various debug tools to conduct failure analysis, and develop test procedures to ensure product’s reliability and usability. -Test new hardware implementations and deliver high quality documentation to roll out proven designs across the full vehicle fleet -Work within an interdisciplinary team to troubleshoot, test, and fix hardware system issues in autonomous vehicles and test fixtures.

Jira) -Experience with Linux, Labview, Matlab, Git and programming (Python, Bash/Shell), GSuite, Slack and Slackbots, AWS, CAN tools -Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to think logically -Experience in technical writing, technical drawings/CAD and documentation of mechatronics systems is preferred -Strong communication and interpersonal skills -Ability to interview, onboard, train and ramp up additional team members -Ability and willingness to travel (up to 30%) to work with testing engineers across multiple testing sites
