Job description
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Solution Architect with deep expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and proven, hands-on experience migrating enterprise workloads from OCI to AWS. Embedded within a large enterprise technology delivery team, this architect will lead the end-to-end migration strategy, solution design, and technical governance for complex, multi-workload OCI-to-AWS transitions. Success at 90 days means a validated migration roadmap is in place, key stakeholders are aligned, and at least one production workload migration stream is actively underway.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and own the end-to-end cloud architecture for migrating enterprise workloads from Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to AWS, covering compute, storage, databases, and networking layers.
- Develop and maintain migration runbooks, architecture decision records (ADRs), and technical governance documentation aligned with AWS Well-Architected Framework principles.
- Assess existing OCI environments, map workload dependencies, and produce detailed migration wave plans that minimize downtime and business disruption.
- Define and enforce cloud security, identity, and compliance standards across the AWS target environment, including VPC design, IAM policies, KMS encryption, and network segmentation.
- Collaborate with application teams, DBAs, and network engineers to resolve cross-functional migration blockers and validate workload compatibility post-migration.
- Lead architecture review boards, technical design sessions, and executive stakeholder briefings to maintain alignment and manage delivery expectations.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation to accelerate migration velocity and reduce manual configuration drift.
- Establish post-migration performance baselines and drive continuous optimization for cost, reliability, and operational excellence on AWS.
Requirements
Demonstrated, end-to-end experience leading at least one OCI-to-AWS migration at enterprise scale, including Oracle DB workloads, applications, and storage.
- Active AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional certification required; OCI Certified Architect Professional or Associate strongly preferred.
- Deep hands-on expertise with AWS services: EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, Direct Connect, AWS Migration Hub, and AWS Database Migration Service (DMS).
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tooling - Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation - and CI/CD pipeline design and implementation.
- Strong understanding of Oracle workload architecture (Oracle Database, Oracle Fusion/ERP SaaS) and the ability to map those patterns to AWS-native equivalents.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with OCI-specific services: OCI Resource Manager, Oracle Autonomous Database, OCI FastConnect, and OCI Object Storage.
- Familiarity with Oracle Fusion SaaS stack (ERP, SCM, HCM) and its integration dependencies in a migration context.
- Prior experience working within large telecom or enterprise technology environments with strict high-availability, latency, and compliance requirements.
- Additional AWS specialty certifications: AWS Certified Security - Specialty or AWS Certified Database - Specialty.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate migration architecture and technical risk to C-level and VP-level stakeholders in business impact terms.
