Job description

Are you excited about .NET architecture, technical leadership, and building the systems behind the future of sports entertainment?

At Beyond Sports, we don’t just visualize sports, we reinvent how fans experience them. Together with partners like NFL, NHL, FIFA, and Disney, we push the boundaries of real-time sports data, 3D graphics, and AI-driven storytelling.

If you’re passionate about leading backend teams, designing scalable systems, and staying hands-on while driving technical delivery, this could be your next move.

What Your Day Will Look Like

As a Technical Delivery Lead - .NET, you’ll sit at the center of engineering execution, system architecture, and team leadership.

Your role combines leadership with hands-on backend development. You’ll guide engineers working on scalable, high-performance systems while contributing directly to architecture, complex technical challenges, and critical delivery moments.

You’ll work closely with Tech Leads, Frontend teams, Data teams, Product, and other stakeholders to build backend services that power real-time sports experiences.

One day you might be reviewing architectural decisions around distributed systems and messaging flows. The next, you could be improving system performance, designing new APIs, or stepping into the codebase to unblock delivery.

You’ll work with technologies like .NET/C#, messaging systems such as RabbitMQ and Azure PubSub, and cloud platforms like Azure and AWS - always with a focus on scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

Because leadership starts with technical credibility, you’ll stay hands-on at your core. A significant part of your time will involve active engineering: solving complex issues, improving system design, and supporting delivery where it matters most.

Alongside this, you’ll help shape engineering standards, backend architecture, and delivery processes across the team.

What We Value

At Beyond Sports, we move fast, collaborate closely, and build things that haven’t existed before.

You’ll fit right in if you:

  • Enjoy combining technical leadership with hands-on engineering
  • Think in systems, architecture, and long-term scalability
  • Like solving complex backend and performance challenges
  • Take ownership and drive delivery forward
  • Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Care about clean code, quality, and best practices
  • Enjoy mentoring others and strengthening team collaboration

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience in software engineering, with strong backend focus
  • BSc or MSc in Software Engineering (or similar)
  • Proven experience as a Technical Lead / Team Lead in .NET engineering teams
  • Demonstrated ownership of delivery, architecture decisions, and team guidance
  • Extensive experience with .NET / C# in production environments
  • Strong knowledge of system architecture, IoC, and concurrency
  • Experience with messaging and streaming systems (e.g. RabbitMQ, Azure PubSub, UDP)
  • Hands-on experience with Azure and/or AWS
  • Strong experience with automated testing and TDD
  • Experience mentoring engineers and supporting their development
  • Strong stakeholder communication and delivery ownership skills
  • Willingness to work on-site in our Alkmaar office

Nice to Have (But Not Required)

  • Experience with Unity (code-side)
  • Knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP
  • Experience with Azure DevOps
  • Understanding of sports data or team sports
