Job description

Data Engineer responsible for developing Python backend services, REST APIs and data platforms supporting passenger flow and operational decision-making., As a Data Engineer, you will develop and maintain Python backend services, REST APIs, data pipelines and data-intensive applications that support operational decision-making. You will work with Azure, Kubernetes/OpenShift, PostgreSQL and CI/CD while collaborating with data scientists, product owners and other engineers to deliver reliable production-grade solutions. About you - Strong experience with Python backend development and REST APIs - Experience with Kubernetes and/or OpenShift - Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and SQL - Experience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Database for PostgreSQL - Experience deploying and operating applications in production environments - Experience with monitoring, troubleshooting and incident resolution - Experience building data-intensive platforms and externally consumed APIs - Experience with CI/CD and Git-based development workflows - Excellent communication skills in both English and Dutch - Bachelor-level education or equivalent professional experience

Benefits & conditions

The position offers a 32-hour working week from 1 October 2026 to 31 March 2027, with the possibility of working at the office on Tuesdays. The role falls under salary scale 13 of the applicable collective labour agreement.
