Herdt Consulting is seeking an experienced SAP Plan-to-Stock (P2S) Functional Consultant to support a large-scale federal SAP S/4HANA program. This role requires a practitioner who can step directly into the P2S workstream with a strong understanding of the Navy ERP environment, Navy logistics and supply processes, and hands-on SAP functional delivery. The consultant will help translate Navy requirements into fit-to-standard S/4HANA solutions across planning, production, inventory, material movement, and related logistics functions., * Support SAP P2P and Materials Management (MM) processes, including complex contract management and invoice entitlement.
- Serve as a functional P2S workstream consultant supporting Navy ERP business process design, configuration, testing, deployment, and stabilization activities.
- Apply deep knowledge of Navy ERP processes, organizational structures, terminology, master data, controls, and stakeholder environments to evaluate requirements and recommend practical solutions.
- Lead or support fit-to-standard workshops and translate Navy business requirements into S/4HANA process designs, configuration decisions, functional specifications, and user stories.
- Configure and validate P2S capabilities involving material requirements planning, demand and supply planning, production or maintenance-related orders, bills of material, routings, work centers, inventory management, and material movements.
- Analyze end-to-end integration across P2S and related process areas, including Materials Management, Warehouse Management/EWM, Quality Management, Procurement, Sales and Distribution, Finance, Project Systems, and supply-chain interfaces.
- Support material master and planning master data design, conversion, cleansing, validation, governance, and reconciliation activities.
- Develop functional design documents, process flows, configuration documentation, interface and RICEFW requirements, test scenarios, training materials, and operating procedures.
- Plan and execute unit, system integration, regression, and user acceptance testing; document results and drive defects through resolution.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
- Experience: 10+ years of relevant professional experience
- Work Schedule: Full-time
- Alignment: W2, 1099, or C2C are acceptable (No 3 rd parties, please), * Demonstrated hands-on experience supporting Navy ERP in a functional capacity, with the ability to operate effectively within the Navy environment from the outset.
- Strong functional experience within Plan-to-Stock, Production Planning, Materials Management, Inventory Management, or closely related SAP supply-chain processes.
- Hands-on experience with core planning and execution concepts such as MRP, demand and supply planning, BOMs, routings, work centers, production or process orders, inventory, and material movements.
- Experience performing SAP configuration and clearly distinguishing personal hands-on responsibilities from project leadership, architecture, or advisory oversight.
- Experience supporting SAP S/4HANA implementation or transformation initiatives using fit-to-standard principles.
- Knowledge of end-to-end integration between P2S and adjacent SAP functional areas and external logistics systems.
- Experience producing functional documentation and supporting data conversion, testing, defect resolution, deployment, and production support.
- Ability to communicate complex SAP and Navy process concepts clearly to functional, technical, and operational stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, supply chain, logistics, engineering, business, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Recent Navy ERP experience supporting a major implementation, modernization, sustainment, or business-process workstream.
- Experience supporting Navy supply, inventory, maintenance, manufacturing, depot, or material-planning operations.
- Knowledge of Navy organizational structures, BSOs, commands, financial and logistics controls, and interfaces with other Navy or DoD systems.
- SAP certification in S/4HANA Production Planning, Manufacturing, Materials Management, or Supply Chain Management.
- Experience with SAP Fiori, SAP Activate, Agile delivery, Jira, Solution Manager, RICEFW objects, interfaces, and clean-core design principles.
