JavaScript (Programming Language) Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) Artificial Intelligence Software Debugging Github TypeScript Openapi Backend Virtual Agents

Job description

  • Write reference documentation, integration guides, tutorials, and product documentation
  • Work in tandem with our current documentation engineer to find new ideas and solutions to current challenges
  • Co-own the pipeline from OpenAPI spec to published API reference: validation, transformation, and deployment
  • Build and maintain the scripts and CI jobs
  • Reduce manual work for the technical writing team through tooling and process improvements
  • Make deliberate decisions about how documentation is structured for AI agent consumption, not only human readers
  • Contribute to OpenAPI spec quality by working with writers and engineers on field naming, example coverage, and schema structure, * Docusaurus for the docs site
  • GitHub and GitHub Actions for content workflows and CI
  • Scalar for API reference rendering
  • OpenAPI 3.x as the single source of truth for API docs
  • JavaScript/TypeScript for tooling and site customization
  • Claude for AI-assisted workflows

Requirements

  • Developer empathy. You approach and write docs to increase an integrating engineer’s efficiency. You can produce clear, accurate content, not just tooling around it
  • You can write code without AI as a crutch. You write scripts, debug error output, and ship working solutions independently
  • Comfort with JavaScript/TypeScript. Our tooling uses it throughout
  • Fluency with CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience working with or reading OpenAPI 3.x specifications
  • Clear understanding of what makes documentation machine-readable, not only human-readable
  • Practical experience with AI tools, especially Claude. You use them daily and know how to prompt for useful output
  • A preference for correctness over volume. You know when to automate and when automation produces noise

Benefits & conditions

  • 90+ team of engineers, product managers and product designers in Berlin
  • Leaders with 8+ years of experience building our promotions engine
  • €1,000 annual learning budget and free German language courses to boost your skills
  • 30 days of annual leave, plus extra paid days for your birthday and moving day
  • Home office setup budget, a monthly home office allowance
  • Freedom to work from abroad for up to 90 days worldwide!
  • Mental health support with nilo.health and a discounted Urban Sports Club membership
  • 20% company subsidy on your pension contributions
  • Subsidised BVG public transport ticket and a dog-friendly Berlin office where your furry friend is welcome
  • Lease your ideal bike through BusinessBike
