Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Network Test Engineer to support the Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC PAC) Transport and Computing Infrastructure Program Office (Code 551) and the development of the Unmanned Carrier Aviation (UCA) Command, Control, Computers, Communications, and Intelligence (C4I) Network supporting the MQ-25 Stingray Carrier Aviation Refueling Platform.
This role supports a network architecture based on the Automated Network Transport System (ANTS) and is responsible for developing, executing, and supporting network engineering tests for unmanned air vehicle communications networks operating both ashore and afloat.
The successful candidate will perform test and evaluation activities, including developmental testing and user acceptance testing, while designing and executing test plans to validate network technologies and operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities Network Test & Evaluation Test and assess ANTS throughout development and maturation phases. Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and evaluation methodologies. Conduct developmental testing and user acceptance testing. Design test events for validating system performance and operational effectiveness. Obtain approval of test plans from designated program leadership before test execution. Analysis & Reporting Develop evaluation and assessment plans, procedures, and reports. Analyze test results and prepare detailed assessment documentation. Provide lessons learned and operational recommendations for future testing efforts. Create studies, assessments, and analyses that enhance understanding of current and future capabilities. Security & Vulnerability Assessment Analyze vulnerabilities in systems, subsystems, and components including: Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Non-Developmental Items (NDI) Government-Furnished Equipment (GFE) Recommend mitigation strategies and design compensating controls. Support network security validation and system hardening initiatives.
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of network engineering experience. Minimum 5 years of experience configuring and supporting: OSPF PIM IGMP VRRP IPSec implemented through HAIPE devices Minimum 1 year of experience developing: Test plans Test procedures Test reports Minimum 1 year of experience using network test tools, including: Spirent TestCenter Spirent Avalanche Wireshark nTAP devices Technical Knowledge Strong understanding of network security best practices. Experience with RHEL IPTables. Experience configuring and supporting encryption devices, including: KG-175D KG-175F KG-175N Certifications Active Cisco CCNA certification or equivalent. Active Security+, CCNA Security, or higher-level certification (e.g., CISSP). Education Bachelor’s degree in: Network Engineering Cybersecurity Computer Information Systems Computer Management Information Systems Related technical field Preferred Qualifications Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility. Recent experience supporting: Unmanned vehicle systems Network communications Carrier aviation network testing Strong customer-service mindset and team-oriented approach. Ability to work independently and manage cross-functional relationships. Demonstrated attention to detail and procedural compliance. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
