Job description

Freenet Health is seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer (RCM Platform) to join our engineering team. In this role, you will play a critical part in building and scaling backend systems that support healthcare billing workflows, claims processing, reimbursement analytics, and operational reporting.

You will work on systems responsible for ingesting and processing claims, ERA data, encounter information, and reimbursement records while helping improve the accuracy and scalability of financial and operational workflows.

This role operates in a HIPAA-regulated environment and requires building secure, reliable, and maintainable systems that support healthcare operations and financial analytics., The Senior Software Engineer will work closely with the Engineering Manager, Product Manager, and cross-functional stakeholders to design, build, and maintain backend services and integrations that support the organization’s healthcare technology initiatives., * Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs

  • Build integrations with healthcare systems, billing systems, and clearinghouses
  • Develop workflows for: *

  • Claims processing
  • ERA (835) ingestion
  • Payment reconciliation
  • Financial reporting
  • Design and maintain relational database schemas and data pipelines
  • Work with structured healthcare data including: *

  • Claims
  • Payments
  • CPT codes
  • ERA files
  • Encounter data
  • Implement secure and scalable cloud-based solutions in Azure
  • Optimize systems for reliability, scalability, and maintainability
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and operational teams to define and deliver new features
  • Conduct code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues and integration failures

Requirements

Do you have experience in Systems integration?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer or Backend Engineer

  • Strong experience building healthcare billing or RCM systems (required)
  • Experience working with: *

  • 835 ERA files
  • 837 claims
  • Claims and reimbursement workflows
  • Strong understanding of relational databases and SQL
  • Experience building APIs and backend services
  • Experience with Python, Node.js, or similar backend technologies
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure
  • Understanding of web security standards and best practices
  • Experience working in HIPAA-regulated environments preferred
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
