Job description

  • Builds production-ready data pipelines in Databricks.

  • Implements schema designs and transformation logic defined by the Data Architect.

  • Creates error handling and edge-case management for messy, real-world source files.

  • Develops testing and validation to confirm outputs are correct before they reach the client.

  • Documents code and operational runbooks for handoff.

  • Works closely with the Data Architect on daily priorities and technical decisions.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of data engineering experience.

  • Hands-on Databricks and Spark experience on Azure Databricks.

  • Experience with ADLS Gen2 and standard Azure data-platform tooling.

  • Strong SQL and Pyspark

  • Solid ETL/ELT background with messy or multi-format source data.

  • Nice to have: Azure certifications, experience with Excel/PDF/semi-structured exports, consulting or client-delivery experience, exposure to CI/CD or automated testing in data contexts.

Our client seeks a Data Engineer focused on implementation to build production-ready pipelines in Databricks. The role will work alongside a Data Architect to translate designs into robust, tested solutions in Azure Databricks with ADLS Gen2 and related Azure tooling. The engineer will manage error handling for messy source data, create validation to ensure accurate outputs, and document code and runbooks for handoff.

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $90.00 to $100.00/hr. w2
