Senior Software Engineer - Marlborough, MA

Participate in collaborative, integrated product teams, employ agile software development techniques and resources to develop, test, and integrate complex software and systems solutions for aerospace and defense applications Assist and participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of Real Time Embedded software, application software, and tools, to include development of new work products or enhancement of existing applications and systems Contribute as a software team member and possibly lead a small software team Work collaboratively with Systems and Integration Test Engineers to analyze, implement and test system Qualifications You Must Have, Please ensure the role type defined below is appropriate for your needs before applying to this role. This position is classified as:

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). If you live within a reasonable commute of an RTX site with other colleagues you interact with, your manager will discuss whether there is a degree of onsite presence associated with this role.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance, Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) Minimum of five (5) or more years of relevant industry experience in software development, integration, and/or test using C++, C#, Java or similar object-oriented software language Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance required, note only U.S. Citizen can obtain security clearance Qualifications We Prefer:

Strong problem-solving, teamwork and communication skills Experience working in Agile environment using techniques such as Scrum, SAFe, Test-Driven Development, or DevSecOps Desire and ability to learn new technologies and tools Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements Experience contributing to a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to difficult technical problems Experience with integrated development tools such as Azure, Git, Atlassian Suite, Jenkins, Eclipse, and Ansible Experience working in a continuous integration/continuous development pipeline Knowledge of Red Hat and/or Linux Operating Systems Exposure to Open Systems Architectures and modular design principles What We Offer, Requires advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project management. Practical to substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.

Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience

Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science,Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
