Mathematisch-technische Softwareentwickler/-innen sind hochqualifizierte Fachleute für ein breites Aufgabenspektrum im Bereich der Softwareentwicklung. Ihre Hauptaufgabe ist die Konzeption, Realisierung und Wartung von Softwaresystemen auf Basis mathematischer Modelle. Berufliche Einsatzgebiete sind zum Beispiel die Simulation von Prozessen oder die Softwareerstellung und -wartung sowie die Qualitätssicherung von Software.
