SAP IS-U Technical Consultant (Choice / IDEX / APE)

STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking a SAP IS-U Technical Consultant on behalf of our client in Boston, MA. We are looking for an experienced professional with strong expertise in SAP IS-U, Choice/Retail Utility environments, and IDEX/APE integrations. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, testing, and supporting SAP IS-U solutions that enable market transactions, customer switching, billing, metering, and utility business processes within deregulated energy markets. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in SAP IS-U, SAP ABAP development, system integrations, and production support, along with hands-on experience supporting utility market participants, suppliers, and service providers., Design, develop, enhance, and support SAP IS-U solutions and integrations. Develop and maintain SAP ABAP programs, interfaces, enhancements, and custom solutions. Support Choice/Retail Utility processes, including customer enrollment, supplier switching, and market transactions. Implement and troubleshoot IDEX and APE integrations within SAP IS-U environments. Develop and support integrations using IDocs, RFCs, BAPIs, Web Services, APIs, XML, REST/SOAP, and file-based interfaces. Analyze and resolve end-to-end transaction issues between SAP IS-U and external systems. Support utility business processes including customer service, device management, meter reading, billing, invoicing, FI-CA, and EDM. Monitor interface performance, batch jobs, transaction processing, and system integrations. Investigate and resolve failed, rejected, or exception-based market transactions. Collaborate with functional teams, business stakeholders, and external partners to ensure successful delivery and support.

8+ years of hands-on SAP IS-U technical experience. Strong experience in retail utility or Choice market environments. Proven expertise with SAP IS-U IDEX and APE integrations. Strong SAP ABAP development background. Experience developing and supporting SAP IS-U interfaces and integration solutions. Solid understanding of deregulated energy markets and utility business processes. Experience with: IDocs RFCs BAPIs Web Services APIs XML REST/SOAP File-based integrations Hands-on experience with: Customer Service Device Management Meter Reading Billing & Invoicing FI-CA Energy Data Management (EDM) Strong SQL, data analysis, troubleshooting, and debugging skills. Experience with batch processing, background jobs, monitoring, and production support. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Qualifications Extensive experience supporting deregulated utility environments and market participant communications. Experience with customer move-in/move-out processes and supplier switching workflows. Knowledge of market transaction acknowledgments, reconciliation processes, and exception handling. Experience troubleshooting complex end-to-end market transaction flows and integration issues. Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams within large-scale utility environments.
