Job description

  • Support the integration, configuration, validation, and launch readiness of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Active Safety features for North American commercial vehicle platforms.
  • The consultant will work closely with software development teams, system architects, validation engineers, product owners, and vehicle integration teams to investigate software and vehicle-level issues, support software deployments, validate system functionality, and drive rapid issue resolution. This role requires hands-on experience with embedded software integration, vehicle electronics, sensors, diagnostics, and system-level troubleshooting.
  • The ideal candidate combines automotive software knowledge with a solid understanding of vehicle electrical architecture, sensor and camera integration, software configuration management, and vehicle variant structures. The consultant should be capable of independently analyzing complex system interactions, performing root cause investigations, and supporting software integration activities from development through vehicle validation.
  • A successful candidate will bring practical experience in understanding how sensor and camera placement, packaging, mounting locations, vehicle architecture, environmental conditions, and calibration strategies influence real-world ADAS feature performance. The role requires a systems-level mindset that balances software, hardware, vehicle integration, and customer usage considerations., * Support software integration, baseline deployment, and validation activities for ADAS and Active Safety systems.
  • Integrate and verify software across multiple ECUs, sensors, cameras, and vehicle variants.
  • Perform vehicle-level diagnostics, CAN analysis, and log investigations to identify root causes of system issues.
  • Support validation of features such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Keeping Assistance (LKA), Lane Centering, and other driver assistance functions.
  • Investigate sensor, radar, camera, network communication, and software interaction issues affecting ADAS performance.
  • Evaluate the impact of sensor packaging, mounting locations, calibration requirements, environmental influences, and vehicle architecture on system performance.
  • Support software release management, variant management, feature enablement, and software configuration activities across multiple vehicle platforms and product classes.
  • Collaborate with global engineering teams to resolve software defects, integration issues, and launch blockers.
  • Support issue management through defect tracking systems and provide technical recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, software baseline records, software BOMs, variant documentation, integration guides, and validation reports.
  • Support vehicle integration activities throughout development, validation, launch, and continuous improvement phases., * Accelerate software integration and validation activities across multiple vehicle programs.
  • Drive timely root cause analysis and issue resolution.
  • Improve ADAS feature maturity, software stability, and overall system performance.
  • Effectively manage software variants, configurations, and baseline implementation across vehicle platforms.
  • Support successful program milestones, validation gates, and launch readiness activities.
  • Provide practical engineering recommendations that improve vehicle performance, quality, safety, and customer experience.
  • Effectively collaborate with North American and global development teams to resolve complex cross-functional issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in automotive embedded systems, vehicle electronics, software integration, system validation, or ADAS development.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle communication networks including CAN, Ethernet, LIN, and UDS diagnostics.
  • Experience using CANoe, CANalyzer, Vehicle Spy, Wireshark, or similar analysis tools.
  • Experience with software configuration management, software baselines, and release processes.
  • Working knowledge of C/C++ and Python.
  • Experience with JIRA or similar defect management tools.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to work independently and quickly become productive in a fast-paced engineering environment., * Experience with ADAS, Active Safety, or automated driving systems.
  • Understanding of radar, camera, ultrasonic, and other vehicle sensor technologies.
  • Experience with sensor and camera packaging, mounting strategies, calibration processes, and vehicle integration considerations.
  • Understanding of how environmental conditions, vehicle configuration, and installation tolerances influence ADAS performance.
  • Basic hardware and electronics knowledge including: 1. ECU architecture 2. Vehicle power distribution 3. Grounding concepts 4. Wiring harnesses 5. Connectors 6. Sensor interfaces 7. Electrical troubleshooting
  • Experience with software baselines, software BOMs, software configuration management, and compatibility analysis.
  • Understanding of vehicle variant structures, feature coding, parameter management, software dependencies, and product-class-specific configurations.
  • Familiarity with AUTOSAR architecture and functional safety concepts.
  • Experience with HIL, SIL, simulation, or vehicle testing environments.
  • Experience supporting field issue investigations and customer-reported concerns.
  • Commercial vehicle, heavy-duty truck, or off-highway vehicle experience preferred., This role is best suited for a hands-on engineering consultant who enjoys working at the intersection of software, hardware, sensors, vehicle integration, and validation. The ideal candidate understands not only how software functions are developed, but also how radar and camera systems are packaged, integrated, calibrated, configured, and validated in real-world vehicle applications. They are comfortable working with software baselines, vehicle variants, network diagnostics, and field investigations, while driving technical issue resolution across multiple engineering disciplines.
