Job description

·Demonstrable experience as a Golang Engineer within a commercial environment.

Design, develop, test and maintain backend applications using Golang.
Build and enhance scalable, resilient microservices and REST APIs.
Develop solutions supporting high-volume customer-facing applications.
Work with messaging technologies such as Kafka / RabbitMQ and asynchronous services.
Contribute to the migration and modernisation of legacy applications.
Work collaboratively within an Agile/Scrum development team.
Develop automated unit, integration and functional tests.
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated software delivery.
Collaborate with Development, QA, SRE and Production Support teams.

Requirements

Commercial experience developing software using Golang / Go.
Experience developing backend microservices and RESTful APIs.
Strong experience with Git, Jenkins and CI/CD.
Experience working with PostgreSQL and/or NoSQL databases.
Experience with messaging technologies, ideally Kafka.
Understanding of TDD, BDD and automated testing.
Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
A genuine interest in learning new technologies and developing technical skills.

Desirable Skills:

Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
Knowledge of Java or another backend programming language.
Experience with gRPC or GraphQL.
Experience working with cloud technologies.
Contributions to open-source projects.

Talent-Relay has partnered with a global leader in the financial services sector to urgently onboard an experienced Golang Engineer / Golang Developer / Go Engineer into an established technology team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level Golang Engineer to work on a modern, global customer platform, developing scalable microservices and APIs within a collaborative Agile environment.

The successful Golang Engineer will be involved in designing, developing and enhancing modern microservice-based applications, working closely with other Software Engineers, QA teams and SREs to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions.

The initial contract is for 5 months, with extensions highly likely as part of a long-term, multi-year programme.
