Job description
Texas HHSC is seeking a Cloud Solutions Architect 2 to support enterprise cloud infrastructure, modernization, and architecture initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience designing and implementing cloud platforms, Kubernetes environments, DevOps solutions, Infrastructure as Code, automation, security, and enterprise architecture. The candidate will work across multiple projects and collaborate with technical teams, architects, and business stakeholders to develop secure, scalable, and highly available cloud solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop enterprise cloud architecture and infrastructure solutions.
- Support cloud modernization and migration initiatives across enterprise environments.
- Design cloud infrastructure using AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
- Develop and maintain IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions.
- Design and implement cloud network architectures.
- Develop secure, scalable, and highly available cloud environments.
- Implement containerized and microservices-based architectures using Kubernetes and Docker.
- Support DevOps, CI/CD, automation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives.
- Develop infrastructure automation using Terraform, Ansible, AWS CloudFormation, and Azure Resource Manager (ARM).
- Implement cloud security, governance, compliance, identity, and access management solutions.
- Configure and maintain cloud monitoring, auditing, logging, and observability solutions.
- Work with cloud APIs, serverless technologies, and enterprise integration solutions.
- Create architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and solution designs.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, security, and application teams.
- Provide technical leadership across multiple concurrent projects.
- Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure and deployment issues.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum development and delivery processes.
- Provide occasional after-hours support when required.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in cloud architecture, cloud infrastructure, or enterprise IT architecture.
- Strong experience with AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience with IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS cloud models.
- Strong Kubernetes/K8s and Docker experience.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform and Ansible.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Strong DevOps and CI/CD experience.
- Experience designing microservices and serverless architectures.
- Experience with cloud networking and infrastructure design.
- Strong understanding of cloud security, governance, compliance, and IAM.
- Experience with AWS CloudFormation and/or Azure Resource Manager (ARM).
- Experience with cloud monitoring and logging tools.
- Experience with enterprise architecture and technical solution design.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.

- 8+ years of enterprise cloud or hybrid-cloud experience.
- Strong cloud engineering background.
- Experience with SQL, Oracle, and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with data lakes, ETL/ELT, data pipelines, and big-data technologies.
- Experience with AI/ML cloud services.
- Experience working in large enterprise or government environments.
- Experience creating architecture diagrams using Microsoft Visio.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
- Excellent communication, documentation, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Candidate Requirements
- Must be local to Austin, TX or within a 50-mile radius.
- Must be available to work onsite Thursday and Friday.
- Must be comfortable with an in-person interview.
- Candidates should have strong hands-on experience with Cloud Architecture, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, DevOps/CI-CD, Infrastructure as Code, and Cloud Security.
- Minimum 7+ years of relevant cloud architecture experience.
