Your mission (responsibilities):Further Groupis a private-equity backed, fast-growing specialist incancer-focused critical illness insurance and services.Headquartered in Madrid with international operations, we partner with global insurers, reinsurers, banks, and affinity organisations to improve access, outcomes, and economics of cancer care.Our platform integratesproduct development, pricing, reinsurance, and claims execution, and we are now strengthening our senior technical leadership as we scale internationally, and are seeking aChief Information Officerto join our business, and become a core member of the Group Executive Committee.PositionThe CIO will define and lead theTechnology & Digital visionfor the Group - transforming a largely manual, process-heavy organisation into ascalable, data-driven, automation-enabled platformwhile remaining proportionate, secure, and compliant.This role goes beyond IT operations. The CIO will act as astrategic partner to the CEO, CFO, and Commercial leadership, translating business ambition into a coherent technology roadmap that supports growth, margin expansion, and operational excellence.As our CIO, you’ll get to:1. Technology & Digital VisionOwn and articulate aclear, multi-year Tech & Digital strategyaligned to the Group’s commercial, operational, and regulatory objectives.Define what “good” looks like for the business in areas such as: Core systems architecture; Data, analytics, and reporting; Automation and workflow orchestration or AI-enabled decision support and efficiency.Act as athought leader internally, helping senior stakeholders understand what is possible with modern technology.2. Transformation & AutomationIdentify and prioritisehigh-impact opportunitiesto reduce manual effort within different departments.Drive the transition fromincremental improvementtostep-change transformationwhere justified.Leverage automation, low-code/no-code, and AI tools in acontrolled, value-led way3. Data, AI & InsightEstablish arobust data strategy:Introduce practical AI use cases such as: Document ingestion and triage, claims and case workflow support and risk, pricing, or operational insightsEnsure explainability, auditability, and regulatory appropriateness in all AI usage.4. Architecture, Systems & VendorsOwn theend-to-end systems landscape, including:Core operational platforms (CRM, policy admin, claims, data)Integration architecture and APIsCloud infrastructure and securityLeadvendor strategy.5. Governance, Security & RiskEnsure technology operations meet required standards.Work closely with Risk, Legal, and Compliance to embedproportionate controlswithout stifling innovation.Act as a senior point of accountability for tech-related risks.6. Leadership & Operating ModelLead, mentor, and upskill the existing IT / Technology team,Build acredible technology functionthat is respected by the business and trusted by external partners.Decide where specialist capability should be internal vs external.We’d love to meet someone who:Senior technology leadership experience (CIO, CTO, Head of Technology, or equivalent).Background inInsurance, Financial Services, or other regulated / complex environmentspreferred but not mandatory.Demonstrated experience leadingtechnology transformation, not just IT operations.Experience modernisingmanual or legacy-heavy businessesis highly valued.Exposure to PE-backed or growth-oriented environments is a strong plus.Excellent written and verbal communications skills in EnglishStrategic, commercial, and pragmatic - able to balance ambition with execution.Comfortable challenging the status quo andraising the baron what the business expects from technology.Able to translate complex technical ideas intoclear business language.Calm, credible presence with regulators, investors, and partners.High integrity and strong ownership mindset.What we’re offering:Are you looking to gain hands-on experience in health insurance product development with mentorship from experienced professionals? Requirements

Senior technology leadership experience (CIO, CTO, Head of Technology, or equivalent). Background in Insurance, Financial Services, or other regulated / complex environments preferred but not mandatory. Demonstrated experience leading technology transformation , not just IT operations. Experience modernising manual or legacy-heavy businesses is highly valued. Exposure to PE-backed or growth-oriented environments is a strong plus. Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English Strategic, commercial, and pragmatic - able to balance ambition with execution. Comfortable challenging the status quo and raising the bar on what the business expects from technology. Able to translate complex technical ideas into clear business language .
