Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to support the Defense Health Agency’s mission of delivering reliable, secure network connectivity to military medical facilities across the CONUS region. This role serves as the senior technical authority for enterprise LAN/WLAN/WAN operations and is critical to supporting the DoD medical community.

What You’ll Do:

In this role, you will lead enterprise-level design, installation, and configuration.

The network you will manage supports hospitals, clinics, telemedicine, medical logistics, and clinical staff across the Military Health System. Your expertise enables doctors, nurses, and service members to access the information and systems they rely on every day.

Requirements

If you hold a CCNP, a CISSP, and have the depth of experience needed to lead enterprise network operations, we want to meet you., Technical Expertise

  • Mastery of networking protocols: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, VRRP, RSTP, and more.
  • Experience with Cisco environments, Windows AD, UNIX/OpenVMS, routers, switches, and WAN infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, optical testing tools (OTDR), cabling standards, and network analyzers.
  • Strong background supporting DoD health IT systems (highly preferred).
  • Ability to lead troubleshooting, guide junior staff, and serve as the senior authority for network decisions.

  • CCNP - Cisco Certified Network Professional
  • CISSP - Certified Information Systems Security Professional

These certifications are essential for this role and required to meet DoD 8140 cyber workforce qualification standards., * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and 5+ years of related experience,

  • OR technical/vocational certification and 10+ years of progressively complex experience.
