Job description

We are currently looking for a Flight Software Engineer to join the team in Delft and work on advanced satellite systems. You will join a team whose work spans mission integration, Earth Observation, secure communications, and space systems engineering. As a Senior Flight Software Engineer you will design, develop and verify the on-board software that routes and processes data on satellites. Flight (Embedded) Software Engineer Main responsibilities You will help with the design, development and verification of satellite on-board software for data routing and processing. Since you’re working on flight software, will be tight hardware constraints. Due to the nature of the job, the work has to be fully reliable, since it cannot be fixed once in orbit. You will work at the interface between software, systems, and hardware, and you own the code from architecture through integration and test; your design decisions will have an impact on the final product.

  • You will develop code that integrates several complex interfaces and routes data between them.
  • You will design software architecture that optimizes performance within the hardware constraints
  • You support systems engineering with the requirement generation and functional flow-down.
  • You create unit tests, perform system-level testing, and support hardware-in-the-loop setups to verify software functionality.
  • You write clean, maintainable code and produce clear technical documentation to support design reviews and system audits.
  • You work closely with other engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions (electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering)., We kindly request that recruitment agencies do not contact us regarding this vacancy. We are not seeking assistance and will not be liable for any fees or charges associated with unsolicited CVs or candidate introductions. Any candidates submitted by agencies without prior written agreement will be considered our direct applicants and may be employed without obligation or fee. Are you enthusiastic about becoming our new Flight (Embedded) Software Engineer? Apply via our application form, or send your CV and motivational letter directly to . Our story At S[&]T we contribute to a safer life on earth by translating space data into valuable and actionable insights. We oversee data from instruments to application, and apply our expertise within our software frameworks, information products and consultancy. Our society relies on space and scientific instruments for climate change monitoring, navigation, defence and national security, and other crucial services we all use in our daily lives. These instruments produce an enormous quantity of complex data, and our goal is to unlock its value. We have more than 20 years of experience working on instrument calibration, the creation of data quality monitoring tools, the development of real-time data processing frameworks, and the development of application-specific algorithms. With this, we help organisations, governments and industries to strengthen their information position and thereby improve their decision making.
