Job description

  • Remove and install KVMs, all-form-factor CPUs, and associated hardware on and under workstations
  • Remove and install mice, keyboards, monitors, monitor arms/trees, docking stations, surge protectors, and UPS units
  • Remove and install desktop printers, multi-function device printers, and desktop scanners
  • Remove and install phones, speakers, headsets, push-to-talk devices, smart card readers, and Video Teleconferencing (VTC) units
  • Remove and install cameras and other peripheral devices
  • Remove and install wall-mounted TV brackets and televisions, and wall-mounted world clock
  • Cable Management & Documentation
  • Route and manage cables within modular and system furniture using Velcro tie wraps only (no zip ties or other fasteners)
  • Maintain accurate equipment documentation throughout all removal and installation activities
  • Ensure every workstation is set up in compliance with Air Force standards and regulations
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas throughout the installation process
  • Restore all disturbed areas and base property to as-found condition upon completion
  • Remove all project residue and ensure work areas are left clean and debris-free, One technician per project must be designated as the Site Point of Contact (POC). The Site POC serves as the on-site interface with government personnel and may also serve as the Project Manager. Additional responsibilities include:
  • Remain on-site during all duty hours until project completion
  • Serve as primary interface with government personnel on quality, safety, and discrepancy matters
  • Prepare and submit the Site Visit Request Letter identifying all personnel details (names, SSNs, driver’s license info, clearance status)
  • Coordinate and submit a milestone schedule detailing time-phased start and completion estimates for all project activities
  • Schedule and coordinate the final project walkthrough with the AFNORTH 1AF POC no later than 5 calendar days prior to acceptance
  • Report all accidents/incidents to the Base Safety Office and cooperate fully with any government investigation
  • Ensure the work area is maintained safely and that any unsafe conditions are corrected before work resumes

Requirements

Do you have experience in Safety regulations?, * Minimum 2 years of hands-on IT hardware installation experience in an enterprise or government environment

  • Demonstrated experience with structured cable management in office or modular furniture environments
  • Familiarity with Air Force or DoD IT installation standards (ANSI/TIA 568, AFSSI 7702, MIL-HDBK-232A, etc.)
  • Experience completing high-volume workstation deployments or hardware refresh projects
  • Proficiency with common power and hand tools used in IT hardware installation

Other Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English - all documentation must be in English
  • Compliance with all OSHA, EPA, federal, state, and base safety regulations
  • Compliance with environmental regulations applicable to Tyndall AFB
  • Willingness to report accidents/incidents to the Base Safety Office (BSO) and cooperate with any government investigation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working on a DoD military installation
  • CompTIA A+ or equivalent hardware certification
  • Experience with VTC systems and peripheral AV equipment
  • BICSI Installer or Technician certification
  • Familiarity with TEMPEST/Red-Black installation guidelines (MIL-HDBK-232A, NSTISSAM Tempest/2-95)
  • Experience with grounding, bonding, and shielding for electronic equipment (MIL-STD-188-124B, AFI 32-1065)
