Job description

Hardware Engineering opportunities have arisen in our team due to sustaining activities on existing products and demand for new products. The team is located in Cambridge and focuses on sections of hardware design with a strong emphasis on quality, reliability, and security to meet customer needs and security certification requirements., * Develop high quality Hardware Security Modules (HSMs)

  • Carry out hardware design, prototyping, integration, and validation
  • Ensure ongoing manufacturability, testability, and reliability of existing hardware designs
  • Maintain detailed design documentation, test reports, and bills of materials
  • Work within an Agile product development framework
  • Develop excellent working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders and colleagues
  • Plan work collaboratively with the whole Engineering team
  • Provide support and direction to less experienced team members
  • Drive continuous improvement and self-development

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of fundamentals of digital and analogue electronics in product design
  • Ability to analyze complex technical problems and offer innovative, reasoned and practical solutions to demanding requirements, * Experience in electronic design of embedded systems with 32- or 64-bit processors and high-speed interfaces & memory devices
  • Experience with FPGA & SoC designs
  • Microcontroller development and efficient low-power design techniques
  • Board bring-up and verification of inter-device interfaces (e.g., signal-integrity analysis)
  • Design for EMC, safety and regulatory standards
  • ECAD systems - ideally Altium
  • Design of security products

Desired Skills

  • C or Rust development for microcontrollers
  • U-boot and Linux platform configuration and builds
  • VHDL / Verilog, * Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant technical subject (e.g., Electronic Engineering)
