Test Engineer

Franklin, North Carolina (commutable from: Waynesville, Union, Prentiss, Burnington, Elijay) Are you an experienced Test Engineer with a background in electronics, embedded systems, or automated test equipment looking to work on complex, mission-critical defence technology? This is an exciting opportunity to join an established engineering business supporting high-reliability military and aerospace systems, where you’ll play a key role in developing, integrating, and improving advanced test solutions. You’ll work across the full testing lifecycle, from developing automated test systems and fixtures through to system validation, troubleshooting, environmental testing, and supporting the sustainment of legacy equipment. This is a hands-on engineering role with plenty of technical variety and opportunities to develop your expertise. You will be responsible for developing automated test solutions, creating test procedures, troubleshooting electronic systems, analysing test data, and working closely with design and manufacturing engineers to ensure products meet demanding performance requirements. This role would suit a Test Engineer, ATE Engineer, Electronics Test Engineer, or Systems Test Engineer with experience in defence, aerospace, embedded systems, or automated testing. The Role:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions for electronic systems
• Develop test procedures, fixtures, and processes for high-reliability products
• Perform functional, performance, environmental, and qualification testing
• Support reverse engineering, troubleshooting, and sustainment of legacy test systems

• Experience testing electronics, embedded systems, or ATE
• Experience with LabVIEW, TestStand, Python, or similar automation tools
• Strong knowledge of test instrumentation, data acquisition, and hardware interfaces
