AI-related work will mainly involve integrating and productising AI capabilities into the Next Gen platform, rather than owning AI/ML model development or AI strategy., * Design and implement full-stack features across front-end and back-end layers of the Next Gen platform.

  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code in line with Syspro’s engineering standards and style guides.
  • Build and consume well-designed APIs to support front-end functionality and third-party integrations.
  • Develop responsive, accessible user interfaces using modern front-end frameworks.
  • Implement back-end services, business logic, and data access layers that meet performance and scalability requirements.
  • Integrate third-party services, cloud platform APIs, and AI/ML models into product features.
  • Implement AI-driven capabilities as directed by the Head of Innovation, translating requirements into working software.
  • Ensure AI feature implementations comply with Syspro’s responsible AI principles and data privacy standards.
  • Write unit, integration, and end-to-end automated tests for all new and modified code.
  • Participate in peer code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to maintain code quality.
  • Diagnose and resolve defects, performance issues, and regressions in a timely manner.
  • Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
  • Communicate technical trade-offs and complexity clearly to product managers and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Identify technical debt and propose practical remediation plans to the team.
  • Maintain technical documentation for features, APIs, and architectural decisions.
  • Apply secure coding practices across front-end, back-end, API, and data access layers.
  • Implement secure API integration patterns, including authentication, authorisation, data validation, and protection of sensitive information.
  • Support enterprise integration requirements across internal systems, third-party platforms, and cloud services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, Honours degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering; relevant cloud or AI/ML certifications (e.g. Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)

  • Back-end development experience using APIs and a server-side language such as C#/.NET Core, TypeScript, or Java
  • Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g. SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and version control using Git
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum engineering teams
  • Exposure to AI or machine learning integration in software applications
  • Knowledge of ERP systems or enterprise software development
  • Experience with containerisation and orchestration (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
