Job description

Wells Fargo is seeking a Systems Operations Manager to lead a team responsible for key technology infrastructure within the Platform Front Line organization. This role is accountable for ensuring rapid, consistent recovery from production incidents and maintaining strong operational discipline as a guardian of production stability, including oversight of change readiness and operational risk management.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage a Systems Operations team of analysts that monitor installed systems and infrastructure
  • Engage stakeholders and internal partners associated with the Systems Operations functional area
  • Identify and recommend opportunities within Systems Operations to increase system efficiency and lower human intervention time on technical tasks
  • Make decisions and resolve issues regarding operating systems, application software, and system management tools to meet business objectives
  • Interpret and develop policies and procedures, and understand compliance and risk management requirements for supported system area
  • Collaborate and consult with analysts, Information Technology personnel, or vendors
  • Manage mid to highly experienced analysts
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Systems Operations
  • Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring, * Direct major incident management activities, ensuring timely resolution and clear executive communication
  • Enforce change discipline, including pre-implementation readiness reviews and post-change validation
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise operational, risk, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain documentation and evidence required for audit and control validation
  • Partner across global teams to ensure consistent operational execution and coverage
  • Drive a culture of accountability, urgency, and continuous improvement

There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Stakeholder management?, * 6+ years of experience in technology infrastructure operations, production support, or systems engineering, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education

  • 3+ years of leadership or management experience in a production operations environment
  • 3+ years’ experience in incident management, recovery execution, and operational leadership in high-availability environments
  • 2+ years’ experience of demonstrated ability to lead teams during high-severity incidents and drive rapid restoration of services
  • 3+ years’ experience with change management processes and risk/control frameworks
  • 3+ years’ experience of proven ability to improve operational performance, including stability, consistency, and control adherence

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience managing large-scale infrastructure operations teams supporting enterprise platforms
  • Strong understanding of L2/L3 support models and escalation management
  • Experience driving operational excellence programs, including MTTR reduction and incident prevention
  • Familiarity with monitoring, observability, and automation tools
  • Experience supporting mission-critical environments in regulated industries
  • Proven ability to lead global teams (onshore/offshore) and drive consistent execution
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to lead effectively during high-pressure situations
