Senior Java Engineer

You’ll design, build and enhance Java-based services and APIs, working as part of an experienced engineering team across new development, modernisation and continuous improvement.

You’ll be involved throughout the development lifecycle, from breaking down requirements and contributing to technical design through to coding, testing, deployment and production support.

There will also be opportunities to improve existing systems, introduce better engineering practices and make greater use of automation and AI-assisted development.

• Strong commercial Java development experience
• Spring / Spring Boot
• REST APIs and microservices
• Experience building distributed, production-grade systems
• CI/CD and automated testing
• Good understanding of software design principles and clean, maintainable code
• Experience working with cloud-based applications
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Comfortable working within Agile engineering teams
• Experience with AWS or GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform, Oracle, Linux or AI-assisted development tools would be advantageous.
• Previous experience within fintech, payments, banking, trading or another high-volume transactional environment would also be valuable, although isn’t essential.
