Job description
We’re looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team responsible for the support, maintenance and continuous improvement of a secure, business-critical platform.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring platform reliability, availability, security and performance while working closely with software developers, support teams and platform engineers. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a complex AWS environment, supporting modern DevOps tooling, cloud infrastructure and automation initiatives.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting and maintaining AWS-hosted infrastructure and platform services.
- Managing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Supporting containerised applications using Docker.
- Building, maintaining and improving CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab and Groovy.
- Monitoring platform performance, availability and health through Elastic and Kibana.
- Troubleshooting infrastructure, deployment and production issues.
- Supporting cloud networking technologies including VPNs, OpenVPN, Transit Gateway and API Gateway.
- Administering Linux and Windows environments.
- Supporting PostgreSQL environments hosted within EC2 and RDS.
- Contributing to disaster recovery, resilience and business continuity activities.
- Managing platform patching, upgrades and security updates.
- Producing and maintaining technical documentation.
- Working closely with development teams to improve automation and deployment processes.
- Participating in incident management and on-call support when required.
Requirements
- Strong AWS infrastructure and platform support experience.
- Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Docker.
- Jenkins.
- GitLab.
- CI/CD pipeline implementation and support.
- Groovy scripting.
- Linux administration.
- Windows administration.
- NGINX.
- PostgreSQL (EC2 and RDS environments).
- AWS Transit Gateway.
- AWS API Gateway.
- AWS Virtual Desktop.
- VPN and OpenVPN technologies.
- Elastic and Kibana.
- Infrastructure monitoring, alerting and performance management.
- Troubleshooting, incident management and root cause analysis.
- Experience working within secure or highly regulated environments.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable Skills
- AWS SageMaker.
- Python scripting and automation.
- Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms.
- Infrastructure security and hardening.
- Cloud networking and connectivity.
- C# and .NET.
- JavaScript and React.
- REST APIs.
- Microservices architecture.
- Experience supporting Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products.
- Experience supporting analytical, intelligence or partner-provided platforms.
- Exposure to SOLAR, MAT or similar operational systems.
- Experience supporting AI-enabled platforms and services.
- Exposure to Large Language Models (LLMs).
- Data analytics and monitoring platforms., You’ll be a hands-on DevOps Engineer who is comfortable supporting live production environments, driving automation, improving operational processes and collaborating across engineering teams. You’ll have a strong AWS background, excellent troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to platform reliability and continuous improvement.
Benefits & conditions
£500 per day (Inside IR35) 12 Month Contract Remote Working | Occasional Travel to London
