Job description
The Data Engineer will work with the Data & Analytics team to implement and maintain a robust data platform used to process and store data across Oxford Industries and its operating divisions. The Data Team supports a complex landscape of 100+ integrated systems and more than 3,000 data models that power analytics, reporting, and operations across the enterprise. The platform currently runs on Snowflake with dbt for transformation, a custom Azure-based Python framework for ELT, and Boomi as our iPaaS platform. Responsibilities include:
- Build required infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from various data sources
- Iteratively improve data platform for greater scalability, optimization of data delivery, and automation of manual processes
- Implement process improvements to support data integrity efforts and system performance
- Demonstrate efficiency in handling data - tracking data lineage, ensuring data quality, and improving discoverability of data.
- Support the Data & Analytics Department to create database designs that meet business needs while optimizing performance
- Create and maintain systems documentation
- Write maintainable, performant code
- Consistently follow standards, guidelines, and procedures for design and maintenance
- Analyze the existing data structures and identify the sources of incoming data to drive source to target mapping and other related artifacts.
- Support the Data & Analytics Department’s development of reference, master, and metadata management; data integration and interoperability; data quality processes; data analytics and reporting capabilities; and data governance.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Software engineering?, * Generally, 3+ years of experience in software engineering, data management, or data analytics
- Experience with cloud data warehouse platforms
- Good understanding of ELT/ETL workflows and concepts, data pipelines, and data structures
- Some experience designing and building conceptual and physical data models
- Intermediate software engineering skills
