Job description

An innovative photonics company based in Oxford is seeking a talented PIC Test Engineer to support the testing, characterization, and validation of next-generation photonic integrated circuits.

The role will focus on developing and executing PIC test and characterization strategies, working closely with design, fabrication, and packaging teams to understand device performance and drive improvements., * Develop and execute PIC test and characterization plans

  • Perform optical and electrical measurements on photonic devices and circuits
  • Develop automated test setups and measurement procedures
  • Analyse test data and identify performance trends and failure mechanisms
  • Support wafer-level and packaged-device testing
  • Work closely with design and process teams to improve device performance and yield

Requirements

  • PhD or MSc in Photonics, Optoelectronics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Hands-on experience with PIC testing and optical/electrical characterization
  • Familiarity with laboratory measurement equipment and automated test systems
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Python, MATLAB, or similar tools is highly desirable
