Senior Java Software Engineer

Our client is seeking experienced Senior Java Developers to join their growing team. As a Senior Developer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining user-centred digital solutions. Acting as a subject matter expert, you will provide technical leadership within multi-disciplinary teams, ensure delivery of high-quality solutions, and contribute to the professional development of colleagues., * Act as a technical SME, ensuring user-centred software is developed in line with business requirements and industry best practice.

• Collaborate with colleagues to design, develop, and deliver innovative solutions to client challenges.
• Oversee software development and deployment pipelines, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
• Present solutions, prototypes, and progress to stakeholders in a clear and professional manner.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
• Contribute to recruitment activities and mentor other consultants in their career development.
• Promote the organisation’s engineering expertise externally through writing, speaking, and thought leadership.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience across the full software development lifecycle delivering user-centred digital solutions.
• Proficiency in Java (including frameworks such as Spring Boot, CXF, Jetty).
• Experience in designing microservices architectures and building RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, TDD).
• Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes or equivalent).
• Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform, ARM).
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, AWS CodeBuild, Azure DevOps, or Atlassian.
• Skilled in designing and building both native and web applications across a range of platforms.
• Experience with Kotlin.
• Previous experience working on government or NHS projects.
