VP of Data Transformation - Private Equity

A specialist private equity firm focused on the financial technology sector is hiring a VP-level Data Strategy & Transformation Lead to join its value creation and innovation arm. The firm invests across banking, payments, capital markets, insurance, and investment management, working hands-on with portfolio companies to unlock growth through data and technology.

This role sits within the firm’s internal value creation team, partnering directly with investment professionals and portfolio leadership to assess, design, and execute data transformation initiatives across the fund., * Lead data diligence for new investments and portfolio companies

• Design and own data-led value creation plans with clear commercial outcomes
• Conduct data maturity assessments and define transformation roadmaps
• Partner with C-suite stakeholders to shape and execute enterprise data strategies
• Support portfolio companies through delivery of priority data initiatives
• Track progress and outcomes of data programmes across the portfolio
• Act as a trusted advisor to investment and operating teams on data strategy
• Location: London (hybrid, 2-3 days onsite; Thursday mandatory)
• Working Model: Portfolio-facing, advisory and execution support role

• Strong background in data strategy, transformation, or advisory within financial services or private equity
• Proven experience driving data-led value creation and supporting PE diligence
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Solid understanding of data governance, privacy, and compliance (e.g. GDPR)
• Working knowledge of ML and advanced analytics for business impact
• Thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous, multi-stakeholder environments
