Job description

MetaPhase is seeking a Software Developer with at least 8 years of relevant experience to design, build, test, secure, and sustain mission applications. This developer will work with users and technical teams to resolve software problems, integrate applications with enterprise services, and automate application and configuration deployments.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Code, test, debug, and deploy new software and enhancements to existing applications using disciplined engineering and version-controlled development practices.

  • Translate user, business, performance, interface, quality, and security requirements into maintainable application designs and tested software components.

  • Collaborate with users, technical staff, security teams, and product stakeholders to diagnose software issues, resolve defects, and prioritize improvements.

  • Design and implement secure integrations with standard software packages, APIs, databases, and enterprise services.

  • Implement security lockdowns, secure coding practices, automated testing, logging, and quality checks that support reliable application operations.

  • Automate application and configuration deployments, updates, patching, and rollback procedures using approved CI/CD and configuration-management technologies.

  • Produce technical documentation and user materials, support training activities, and incorporate customer feedback into application improvements., Washington, DC metropolitan area. On-site support is required based on customer access, system classification, and mission needs.

Remote Schedule

  • Hybrid, subject to customer direction and secure-environment access requirements.

Travel

  • Travel may be required for mission workshops, technical working sessions, or program activities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in software development, application engineering, systems integration, or a closely related technical discipline.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, engineering, or a related field.

  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance with SCI access. U.S. Citizenship is required.

  • Advanced proficiency in object-oriented or modern application development using languages such as Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or comparable technologies.

  • Hands-on experience with software design, debugging, unit and integration testing, source control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment or configuration-management technologies.

  • Experience applying secure coding practices, vulnerability remediation, security configuration controls, and automated quality checks within the software delivery lifecycle.

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with users, software engineers, testers, security teams, and delivery leadership.

What Sets You Apart (Preferred)

  • Experience developing or modernizing software for Federal, law enforcement, intelligence, cyber, or other mission-critical environments.

  • Experience with cloud-native or hybrid application development, including AWS, Azure, or comparable regulated environments.

  • Proficiency with Git-based workflows, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes, or comparable development and deployment tooling.

  • Experience integrating enterprise applications with APIs, databases, identity services, commercial software packages, and automated patching or deployment solutions.

  • Experience developing technical documentation, user guides, test evidence, release documentation, and training materials for operational software.

  • Current TS/SCI clearance and demonstrated experience supporting work in secure on-site environments., * Minimum bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, engineering, or a related field.

Clearance Level

  • This position requires an Active Top Secret clearance with SCI access.

  • U.S. Citizenship required. No exceptions.
