Job description

Hiring: Satellite Platform EngineerLocation: Arganda del Rey, Madrid, Spain (40% Onsite 60% Remote)Languages: Spanish & English (B2+)We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Satellite Platform Engineer to join one of Europe’s most ambitious space initiatives, the IRIS2 satellite communication program, as part of the SpaceRISE consortium.This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the design, development, procurement, testing, launch, and in-orbit operations of a next-generation telecommunications satellite constellation that will shape the future of secure European connectivity.Key ResponsibilitiesReview technical, functional, and contractual documentation, including requirements, architecture, and Statements of Work (SoW).Support satellite platform engineering, design, and development activities.Prepare and evaluate Satellite and Launch Services RFPs.Participate in design, manufacturing, integration, and testing reviews.Support launch campaigns, LEOP activities, and in-orbit testing.Monitor satellite health and coordinate anomaly investigations.Contribute to the development and evolution of satellite platform subsystems.Prepare project status reports and provide regular progress updates.Required ExperienceMaster’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.Proven experience in:Satellite platform engineeringPlatform procurement or equipment manufacturingIn-orbit satellite operationsGEO and/or LEO satellite missionsExperience working on major European space programs (ESA, EU-funded programs, or similar).Strong knowledge of IT Infrastructure and Networking environments.Technical RequirementsUnderstanding of satellite systems, subsystems, and platform technologies.Experience with Python, MATLAB, or similar technical programming tools.Knowledge of infrastructure, networking, hardware, and datacenter environments.Ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary and international teams.Preferred SkillsExperience managing complex aerospace or space-sector projects.Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.Ability to perform effectively in highly technical and demanding environments.This role offers the chance to work at the forefront of the European space industry, contributing to a landmark satellite constellation program alongside leading international organizations and experts.If you have a background in satellite systems engineering and are looking for your next challenge in the space sector, I would be pleased to connect and discuss the opportunity further.
