Job description

  • Design, deploy, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure and services.
  • Manage Azure Virtual Machines, VNets, Azure SQL Database, Blob Storage, Managed Disks, and Azure Active Directory.
  • Support cloud modernization initiatives and enterprise infrastructure optimization.
  • Automate provisioning and configuration using Terraform, ARM Templates, and Ansible.
  • Develop automation with PowerShell, Python, and Bash. Create reusable templates and deployment frameworks.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitLab, and Jenkins. Support automated deployments, testing, and release management.
  • Implement Azure security best practices including RBAC, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure DDoS Protection, and encryption for data at rest and in transit.
  • Ensure compliance with FedRAMP, NIST, and DoD requirements. Support vulnerability remediation and security monitoring.
  • Monitor environments with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and Activity Logs. Troubleshoot and optimize performance.
  • Configure and manage networking including VNets, Azure DNS, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, Load Balancer, and Application Gateway.
  • Support hybrid-cloud integrations with on-premises environments. Assist with migrations using Azure Migrate, Azure Arc, and Azure Site Recovery.
  • Implement backup and recovery with Azure Backup. Manage storage lifecycle policies and snapshot automation. Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, Security, Engineering, and Government stakeholders. Provide technical guidance on Azure architecture and operations.

Requirements

Our client is seeking a Sr. Cloud Engineer (Azure) to design, deploy, secure, and optimize enterprise cloud infrastructure within Microsoft Azure for federal customers. The role includes implementing scalable cloud solutions, automating infrastructure deployment, supporting hybrid-cloud architectures, and ensuring compliance with FedRAMP, NIST, and DoD frameworks. The position requires Azure engineering expertise, Infrastructure as Code proficiency, DevOps experience, and a commitment to building secure and resilient environments., * Active Secret Security Clearance.

  • 5+ years in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Systems Administration, or related fields.
  • 3+ years of hands-on Microsoft Azure engineering.
  • 3+ years with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
  • 3+ years building and managing CI/CD pipelines.
  • 4+ years of PowerShell scripting.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, GitLab, Jenkins, GitHub, and Ansible.
  • Experience with hybrid-cloud and on-premises integrations.
  • Strong understanding of Azure networking services including VNets, Azure DNS, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, Load Balancers, and Application Gateway.
  • Experience implementing cloud security controls and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with Python, PowerShell, Bash, YAML, and JSON.
  • Strong troubleshooting, automation, and problem-solving skills.

Benefits & conditions

Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen with an active Secret clearance. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity, offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. Qualified applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis.

Salary: $140,000 - $160,000/ yr. w2, Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
