Software Engineer I (Onsite)

• Assist and participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of real-time application software and tools, to include development of new work products or enhancement of existing applications and systems.
• Participate in internal reviews of software components and systems.
• Work on problems with defined scope, schedule, and expectations.
• Follow established development practices and processes to maintain the configuration management of software products.
• Work on an agile team responsible for developing and delivering software for one of the MDS Department’s programs.

What You Will Learn

• The workings of Missile Defense Systems and/or Command and Control (C2) Systems.
• How to develop and maintain large-scale, complex software solutions in an agile environment.
• Testing frameworks and best practices to enable high-quality software deliveries utilizing Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery concepts.

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance, The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in software design and development, an eagerness to learn, the ability to work 100% onsite and collaboratively with a team, and an interest in complex, real-time, safety-critical systems.

• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance., * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related (STEM) discipline.
• Experience developing software with C, C++, Java, or Ada.

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

The MDS SW mission is to provide world class Radar and Command and Control (C2) Software for our customers’ wide array of Surveillance and Warning Systems. As a member of our team, you will design, develop, test, and release software products for one of our Radar or C2 programs.
