Job description
Under the direction of the Senior Project Manager and Associate, the Project Coordinator will execute a wide range of tasks across one or more key projects within CivicWell’s Energy portfolio. This portfolio will primarily focus on the California Climate & Energy Collaborative (CCEC), with additional projects to be determined.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinating event logistics for virtual and in-person conferences, forums, and workshops.
- Communicating with speakers, event attendees, stakeholders, and/or members.
- Organizing and participating in project meetings, including taking detailed notes.
- Developing and distributing project materials related to membership recruitment, event promotion, case studies, and additional program deliverables
- Managing databases, spreadsheets, timelines, and deliverables.
- Proactively communicating progress, challenges, and changes needed to the Project Manager and stakeholders, and working collaboratively with the Project Manager to troubleshoot any identified issues.
- Building and strengthening positive working relationships with project partners, funders, members, participants, and other stakeholders.
- Other duties as assigned., * This is a fully remote position. Candidates must be based in California, and ideal candidates will be based in the Sacramento region.
- Requires extensive time in front of a computer screen and is mostly a sedentary position (sitting). Accommodations may be requested for these requirements based on demonstrated need.
- Travel: This position requires occasional travel for off-site meetings and events throughout California, which may include driving, rideshare, public transportation, trains, and air travel (typically once or twice a quarter).
Requirements
We are looking for a passionate, collaborative individual to join CivicWell’s Climate Change and Energy team and help coordinate and execute complex projects within CivicWell’s Energy portfolio.
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual with strong communication and organizational skills, a growth mindset, and a passion for and knowledge of California energy, with the ability to learn and apply new skills. This is an excellent opportunity to be involved and build expertise in the rapidly evolving fields of climate resilience, clean energy, and statewide decarbonization., We are searching for candidates with the following key attributes and qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited 4-year institution (relevant work experience may be considered in place of a degree on a case-by-case basis).
- Desire to learn and build knowledge in clean energy and climate mitigation.
- Experience preparing concise, comprehensive, and understandable memos, reports, studies, and other written materials.
- Proficiency working in platforms such as Zoom, Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Constant Contact, MailChimp, SurveyMonkey, FormSite, Canva, and WordPress
- Ability to manage time and tasks with multiple timelines and project supervisors.
- Experience in working in a professional setting with diverse project partners and stakeholders.
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively, with excellent communication, organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
- Commitment to building and maintaining efficiency in project systems and operations., * A Bachelor’s Degree in environmental studies and/or planning, political science, economics, or a closely related field.
- Working understanding of energy efficiency, clean energy, building decarbonization, electric vehicles, climate action plans, funding and financing, climate resilience, and other related topic areas to climate and energy.
- Previous work experience in the public sector.
- Experience with event planning, including creating agendas, speaker coordination, and event planning logistics.
- Professional experience conducting the core functions and responsibilities of the position described above.

This position is full-time and non-exempt. The annual full-time starting salary range for this position is $52,000-$58,240, depending on qualifications.

- 100% employer-paid medical, dental, vision, long-term disability coverage, and life insurance.
- Vacation: Ten days of paid time off accrued in years one and two / three weeks accrued during year three.
- 12 paid holidays per year.
