SCADA System Engineer (RT Operations)

HiveCo has a contract opportunity with our client for a Real-Time Operations (RT Ops) Solution Engineer to support and enhance Operational Technology (OT) systems used in transmission control environments. This role focuses on supporting real-time tools including SCADA, EMS, and AVEVA PI systems that are critical to grid operations., * Provide application support for Energy Management Systems (EMS) and SCADA platforms

• Support real-time operational tools used within Transmission Control Centers
• Maintain and support AVEVA PI (Plant Information) system, including components and integrations
• Troubleshoot system issues and ensure high availability of mission-critical OT systems
• Analyze system interdependencies across OT environments and resolve complex issues
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation to support real-time operations
• Demonstrate urgency, critical thinking, and strong attention to detail in a high-impact environment

Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, This is a hands-on support and engineering role requiring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate in a 24/7 real-time environment., * Experience supporting Operational Technology (OT) systems, SCADA, or EMS environments

• Working knowledge of AVEVA PI system architecture and components
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in real-time systems
• Ability to understand system integrations and data flows across multiple platforms, * Bachelor’s degree + 2+ years relevant experience
• Associate’s degree + 4+ years relevant experience
• High school diploma/GED + 6+ years relevant experience

Relevant backgrounds may include:

• IT/OT System Administration
• Application Support (OT/SCADA/EMS)
• Cybersecurity (OT environments)
• ADMS, DMS, EMS, OMS, or SCADA systems, * Hands-on experience with AVEVA PI components, including:
• PI Interfaces, Connectors, Integrators
• PI Asset Framework (AF) and PI Vision
• Experience with power plant control systems (e.g., Ovation)
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols:
• OPC, Modbus, DNP
• Experience with PI installation, configuration, or administration
• Exposure to advanced analytics within AVEVA PI
• Experience with C# / .NET development

Additional Details

• Utility or energy industry experience strongly preferred
• Ability to work in a real-time operations environment with on-call rotation
• Contract role with potential for full-time conversion
