Site Reliability Engineer

Our Platforms Team is composed of diverse and dynamic engineers focused on crafting and maintaining high-performance platforms, primarily leveraging AWS and Kubernetes. We prioritize growing our team’s skillset through structured learning, including dedicated Friday training sessions and daily collaborative pair-programming and shadowing. We do have an Error Budget, track our key performance indicators and foster observability. We’re also aware we’re not Google or Netflix, and we adapt SRE and Agile to fit our unique context, always genuinely trying to walk the talk. As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you’ll be a key contributor, applying your experience to:

• Architectural Vision: Shaping the design of our future platforms.
• Performance & Reliability: Enhancing the robustness and efficiency of our current systems.
• Security Integration: Embedding security best practices early in the development lifecycle with a DevSecOps “shift-left” mindset.
• Automation: Eliminating TOIL to boost efficiency and ensure sustainable operations. You will also participate in structured incident response, post-mortem analysis, and predictable, paid on-call rotations that are intentionally easy on your personal time.

Our ideal Senior System Engineer is a seasoned systems expert who is looking for a long-term role, bringing:

• Deep expertise in Linux, containerization, and production-level experience with AWS.
• Proficiency in Python and a solid understanding of modern, distributed, systems architectures.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools (ElasticSearch, Fluentd, Prometheus, OpsGenie).
• The ability to enable seamless, self-service deployments through robust and reliable continuous delivery pipelines.
• A foundational understanding of IT security concepts (Penetration Testing, lateral movement, XSS, SQLi, tc.).

• A genuine willingness to share knowledge with and learn together. Bonus Points If You Have:

• Production experience with Kubernetes.
• Exposure to AWS Billing and cloud cost optimization.
• Programming skills in Go or Rust.
• A clear understanding of the crucial distinction between observability and monitoring.

• Flexible Working Model: Start window: 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM and intensive working day on Fridays
• On-call Shifts: Participation in weekly on-call rotations; these are straightforward and fully remunerated.
• Flexible Work Model: Our teams enjoy a hybrid setup, meeting in the Barcelona office twice a week for focused collaboration. The rest of the week, you can work from any location with a quiet environment and stable internet. Plus, there’s an option for one month of international remote work from pre-approved countries.
